I downloaded Windows Vista Beta 2 from the Microsoft website, but I never got a product key. What do I do?

How do I get a CD Key?
Microsoft sends you the key in an email. Perhaps the email they sent is sitting in your Junk or Deleted folder?

It was on the page just before the page with the download links. It had a CoA there.
Most people don't read the pages, clicking through them as fast as possible to get to the download. It appears you just went right past it.
Despite postings to the contrary, you will not receive an email with an activation code.

So, is there something to do about this? If we got the link and were able to download the file it's going to be a real shame if we can't try Vista. Any suggestions?

I would be happy to forward the email that I received to you.

Mark, I ran into the same problems as a few others. Couldn't print the key page and no email from Microsoft. Would you forward the email to me? Thanks

My response was to dispute the fact that I actually did receive the email. I cannot in good conscience forward my registration key to you, since that would violate the eula.

No, what it means is, you clicked through a page in your excitement to get to the download without reading it, the one that had your key on it and said "Print This Page and Save it for your Records" and that you also did receive an email from MSFT with the key that you either still have or you deleted (or perhaps your spam filter is holding hostage).
The DVD-Key page is generated at the time you registered with MSFT to become a tester, so no, I cannot provide a link to your "cd-key" page.
I suggest three things:
1. Go through the registration process again after setting up a new "Passport" account, register, but since you have already downloaded the file you can skip this (and only this) step:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx
2. Read my helpful tips for a smooth experience:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.general&tid=85baaee2-adb8-455e-b81e-17de55b4b4f0&cat=en_US_9CA88DDB-D18D-FA0E-A366-6E527B0FBA67&lang=en&cr=US&sloc=en-us&m=1&p=1
3. Read Andre's warning to people not familiar with Beta software:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.general&tid=11f10796-3a52-4e6f-8b24-1c478c257bf3&cat=en_US_9CA88DDB-D18D-FA0E-A366-6E527B0FBA67&lang=en&cr=US&sloc=en-us&m=1&p=1
Good Luck!

Thanks, Mark - you're a life saver. I didn't write down the key properly when I grabbed the ISO from the MS website (that's what I get for doing that kind of stuff so later at night). I went all through the support e-mail, and there it was at the bottom.
Thanks!

No one can Email you their Product Key. If you lost yours, there is no replacement option.
However you can install the Pre RC1 without a Product key.
